Dr. Franz Marie Cruz is a neuro-ophthalmologist and uveitis specialist dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients with a variety of conditions including intraocular inflammation, optic nerve disorders, visual field defects, double vision, cranial nerve palsies, and more. With extensive knowledge on the intricate relationship between the eyes and the brain, Dr. Cruz provides comprehensive evaluations, specialized care, and personalized treatment plans to optimize vision and improve quality of life.
Dr. Franz Marie Cruz received her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of the Philippines, Manila in 2005. She then completed a 3-year residency program in Ophthalmology from the UP-Philippine General Hospital in Manila. This was followed by a fellowship training in Medical Retina and Uveitis in the Philippines and a fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. Dr. Cruz is board-certified ophthalmologist and is a fellow of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology (PAO). She is also a member of the Neuro-ophthalmology Society of the Philippines (NOSP), Philippine Ocular Inflammation Society (POIS) and Vitreo-Retina Society of the Philippines (VRSP). At the time of this writing, she also serves as the editor-in-chief of the Philippine Journal of Ophthalmology, which is the official scientific publication of the PAO.
